The Amathuba learnerships program is run and managed by the Old Mutual Group, one of the largest financial institutions in South Africa. Under the Corporate Equity Plan, this program is only offered to black candidates with disabilities or to black men and women.
Amathuba learnerships available
Old Mutual has many curricula, and Amathuba learning is one of them. This program specializes in wealth management and upon completion, successful candidates receive a level 4 wealth management qualification. This program lasts a total of 12 months, and selected candidates usually begin their training early in the year.
Amathuba learnerships requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements to apply. All applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old and be South African citizens. Only Cape Town applicants will be considered.
Must have a valid ID document or ID book
Applicants may not be employed
All candidates must have a valid matrix certificate
Candidates must have a master’s degree in English (50%), mathematics (70%) and
Pure math by 50% or higher
Candidates must also have passed a second official language mark of 50% or higher

Candidates must, before submitting their application, ensure that all documentation is certified, that all application fields are fully completed and that all contact information is up to date.
Late, incomplete or missing documents will not be considered. Once the candidates have been selected and a short list drawn up, they will be contacted and asked to complete a written assessment and interview.

This training program is usually closed in early December. Candidates can visit their website from mid-year to open applications for this program.
