Traffic Officer Learnerships 2022-2023

Young and skilled people can pursue careers as traffic officers in a variety of ways. These traffic officer learnerships are offered on an annual basis by a number of different companies.

Requirements for Traffic Officer Learnerships


Candidates must be under the age of 35 to be considered. Candidates must submit a comprehensive curriculum vitae. They should also submit contact information for references and any other information they believe is relevant to their application. Include certified copies of all relevant certificates, ID documents, and three-month proof of address.


Candidates must also meet the following requirements:


  • You must be a citizen of South Africa.
  • Candidates must be in possession of a valid South African identity identification.
  • All applicants must possess a valid Code B driver’s license. Manual
  • Candidates must have finished Grade 12 and be in possession of a certificate of completion.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate in English and at least one other language.
  • Candidates must be free of any criminal history.
  • For strenuous exercises, you must be medically fit.
  • Candidates must be competent to possess a firearm and have not been ruled incompetent under the
  • Firearms Control Act. They must also not have been deemed incompetent under any other relevant legislation.
  • In any other legislation that may be relevant, no candidate may be ruled incompetent.
  • Candidates must be available to work on weekends, holidays, and shifts.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Candidates, both verbal and written, must not be included in any employee firing proceedings.


Falsification in any kind will not be tolerated. Only those that are shortlisted will be contacted. Medical, driving, fitness, and fingerprint checks will be required of these candidates. Candidates are not guaranteed a permanent post after completing their learnership; nevertheless, if an opening exists, certain of these institutes may provide permanent positions.


Application for Traffic Officer Learnerships


Some companies provide online application processes for learnerships. This process is not available in all of them, and applications can be picked up at the offices.

Candidates will be required to fill out a Z83 Form, which may be obtained from any Provincial Government Department.


Candidates are strongly encouraged to complete and sign these forms in their entirety. A certified copy of the candidate’s ID document, any and all qualifications, a license, a curriculum vitae, and contact information should be included in each application.


If necessary, applicants must be willing to travel and move. The majority of the training will be in compliance with the SAQA Registered Qualification criteria for Traffic Officers.

Late applications will not be considered, thus candidates should make sure they submit their applications before the deadlines.


The majority of the companies interested in these learnerships request that candidates allow three months for communication after the closing dates. Candidates can assume their applications were unsuccessful if no communication is received within this time frame.
